The Functional Home Office

If you have to work from home, it makes sense to design a room that you enjoy being in. Creativity flows more freely in an organized and inspiring space. It's easy to make your furniture serve both form and function with all of the new (and relatively inexpensive) furniture lines out now. Here are my picks.

I love this desk, but it wasn't in my budget so I improvised
with a similar one from IKEA. (see below){Williams-Sonoma Home, $1,250}

The same look for (much) less.
{IKEA, $109}

Check out the bold color of this file cabinet. You could get this same look
with craigslist and a can of spraypaint. Paint mismatched items in the
same glossy color and they'll look like they belong together.

I love the idea of using this bookcase as a room divider,
especially if your home office serves more than one function.{CB2}

Removable chalkboard wall decal... brilliant.{See Jane Work}

I'm always in need of a thesaurus and with these hot colors,
I won't mind leaving it on my desk.
