Vintage and Diamonds

One of my favorite designer trends is the Tiffany key collection. It has the look and feel of a vintage find... but with some extra sparkle. My favorite is the simple silver trefoil but the $10,000 kaleidoscope diamond pendant isn't bad either. :) I was surprised to find I could pick one up for about $100 (chain not included) but I think I'm going to try to find an real vintage piece instead. Happy treasure hunting!

And if you just can't live without the logo in plain sight, they have one for that too. :)

Summer Must Haves!

Every fabulous beach babe needs a fabulous beach hat. (Think Samantha in Sex and the City, but practical.) Many wide-brim hats are now made with UV-blocking materials and cost lest than $40. Pin on a colorful flower to mix it up a bit.

Invest in a light-weight sundress. Who says you can't look good AND be comfortable? White is my color pick for the summer - just avoid the bbq sauce.

Trade in a fridge full of plastic water bottles for a single eco-friendly style statement. I like SIGG's reusable, aluminum water bottle. Bonus - it won't leak any harmful chemicals into your water (you know you've heard the rumors) and the dog won't use it as a chew toy.

With the invention of the camera phone, we are never without a camera. Make your photos more fun with a photo enhancing iPhone application like CameraBag. You can instantly create polariods or add photo filters that simulate real camera effects. If you don't want to shell out the 2 bucks, there some free iPhone apps that can do more basic retouching like cropping and changing color. A little color (or lack there of) can make even a camera phone image look like art.

More than just a pretty face

I love the simple look of a black and white silhouette. I'm not just talking about a framed rapid scissor-cut bust length portrait of Little Susie. If you frame a traditional paper silhouette, do it in a fabulously elaborate frame or with a colored background.

For a less expensive framing option, paint the silhouette of an antique frame in a bold color behind a real framed picture.
I also found these fun plates by Pop Ink.
I think silhouette wallpaper would look great in a powder room. This oval pattern is from Osborne & Little. You could also use a stencil and some painter's tape. Powder rooms are like small jewel boxes, the perfect place to go a little overboard.
So as long as you don't use the wallpaper, framed pictures, and plates all in one room... it's a great look.
